Dear S. Starling,
Your Question(s): Does the Bible speak about Muslims or Muhammed?
My Answer(s): Thank you for your question and visiting my web site. You asked does the Bible speak of Muslims or Muhammad. The Bible speaks of many man-made religions without always calling it by name including the religion called by Christ’s name Christianity and under various man-made human organizations called denominations in this religion called Christianity. Within these same man-made organizations called "churches", there is some masquerading as true followers of Christ as well as true followers of Christ. For there are some who claim to be Christians, yet there actions prove they are not true followers of Christ Jesus. Christ Jesus will separate these false Christians from His true followers at His coming.
If you are asking this question because you want to prove the Muslim or Islamic religion is not in the bible, then you should know there are many Christian denominations, which are not in the Bible either. No man-made religious organization called Christianity, Islam or the like or any other name represents God nor does any Christian denomination, nor is determining if a religion is in the Bible means its valid. For it is written, "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves… If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless. Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world" (James 1:22, 26-27 NKJV). As you can see from these verses, God only respect your religion if its main cause is to care for the homeless and helpless and those who cannot support themselves on this evil and adulterous planet. And that you keep from being engulfed in the sins of this world. Therefore, I exhort you to concentrate on being a follower of Christ rather than worrying about the sins of others and this world. For every one of us will stand before the judgment seat of Christ Jesus, not because we exposed or pointed out others sins but for the things we have done (Matthew 12:35-37, John 5:22, 25-30 and Romans 14:9-11).
Yes, the Bible does speak of rivals between brothers and tribes, which today have developed into religious rivals. Such as, Ishmael and Isaac (Genesis chapters 16-18, and21), Jacob and Esau (Genesis 25:19-34, 26:34-35, 27:1-45 and 28:6-9). But the Bible does not specifically mention by name the religion of Islam or Muslim. Nor does it mention specifically by name Buddhism or any other man-made religion of this present day.
I pray that God continue to bless you in understanding His holy word. Amen. Praise God.
In Christ Love,
Ron Davis, minister of Christ
