Dear Cheryl M.,

Your Question: [Where] in the bible does it talk about human nature [?]

My Answer (s): First, let me apologize for being so late in responding to your question, sometime I have multiple things running at the same time. And I like to thank you for visiting my web site and submitting your question. You ask, where in the Holy Bible does it speak about human nature? The Holy Bible speaks about human nature throughout from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation. The question is what is your reason for asking this question? Are you just curious about human nature in the Holy Bible? Or is it that you want to know why we, as humans do the things we do? Or is there a more specific thing about your own human nature you seek answers to? Therefore, I will answer this question from these points of view.

First, I must say, our human nature, the sinful nature cannot be trusted. In Genesis 8, God Himself says, "Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood" (Genesis 8:21 NIV). Our creator tells us the heart of man is evil from childhood, and human nature is evil beyond repair. For again it is written in Jeremiah 17, where the Holy Spirit says, "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?" (Jeremiah 17:9 NIV). Yes, the heart of man, human nature is "deceitful" and "beyond cure". Yet, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob says, He will give the man who loves Him another heart. Saying, "Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh, that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God" (Ezekiel 11:19-20 NKJV). Again, speaking of the New Covenant it is written, "But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people" (Jeremiah 31:33 NKJV). And again, the Holy Spirit says, "This is the covenant that I will make them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,’ then He adds, ‘Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more" (Hebrews 10:16-17 NKJV)

Secondly, the apostle Paul explains the nature of man, human nature in us even after receiving this new heart and Spirit of Christ. Saying in Romans 7:

So, you see Cheryl from these verses in Romans 7 that we as true followers of Christ continue to struggle with our human nature (sinful nature) even after receiving the Spirit of Christ. But Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior will rescue us from this sinful nature (verses 24-25), if we continue in the faith by serving Him in our inner self always repenting of our sins we commit in the flesh (verses 22).

Therefore, I exhort you and all true followers of Christ, to remain in the faith and continue to fight the good fight. And do not once again return to acting as if you are "mere men" or women (1 Corinthians 3:4). For once we as true followers of Christ were alienated from God and were enemies of God in our minds because of our evil behavior. But God in His love for us while we were still grounding in sin sent His only begotten Son to die for us that He may present us to Himself as holy in His sight (Colossians 1:21-22). We as true followers of Christ must put to death this earthly nature called human nature: "sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry". As it is written, "Because of these, the wrath of God is coming" on this evil and adulterous planet (Colossians 3:5-6 NIV).

Again, if we tempted do not say, "God is tempting me’. For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. Don't be deceived my dear brothers" and sisters by evil one and the cares of this evil and adulterous planet (James 1:13-16 NIV).

Finally, since our God and Savior the Lord Jesus the Christ, "suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin. As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do—living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry" (1 Peter 4:1-3 NIV). Yes, if we as true followers of Christ Jesus suffers in our body to obey the spiritual law, which lives in us then we declare that we live for the will of the One True God and Father in heaven. Amen. Praise God.
