Dear Dorothy E.,

Your Question: What are the two promises God left for us [?]

My Answer (s): First, I wish to apologize for taking until now to respond to your question. There are times when I am presented with multiple tasks I must work. Now, let me thank you for visiting my web site and submitting your question. You asked about "two" promises as if God only gave us "two" promises, and then as you say "left for us". This could not be farther from the truth. For God the Holy Father in heaven have given us many promises. I mean, are you saying God left us only two promises? Are you quoting some man’s doctrine called "two promises"? If so, then you should devote yourself to studying and meditating on God’s Holy word rather than trying to learn some doctrine of men. I mean, define what do you have in your mind when you ask this question. What is the answer you are looking for? If indeed you have the most important promise of God living in you then help me to understand why you believe God "only" left us two promises?

For it is written, "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever" (John 14:14-16 NKJV). And again, "Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call." With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation" (Acts 2:38-40 NIV). Yes, if you are looking for "just two promises" from God then you should search the web, and you will find those who teach such doctrine of men. But, I do not teach any doctrine of men. I teach the word of God.

Therefore, I exhort you to study the word of God and not some doctrine of men claiming human wisdom. But, learn from this that God seek those who humble themselves as little children. Again, I say seek the wisdom of God from above by studying and meditating on His Holy and Righteous Word. Amen. Praise God.

In Christ Love,

Ron Davis, minister of Christ
