Dear
Marie,
Thank
you for visiting my web site, and submitting your question and comments. I pray
that my God and Holy Father in heaven will continue to bless you in
understanding His Holy Word.
Your
Question(s): who was kush in
the bible and what information is there on him
My
Response(s): The word "Kush" is a Hebrew word also spelled as
"Cush" in the Greek form and comes from the name "Cush" in
the Holy Bible. See the New International Version (NIV) for your personal Bible
study where the word "Cush or Cushite" is
used correctly in the Old Testament and translated as the Greek word
"Ethiopia" in the New Testament which was original written in the
Greek. The King James version (KJV) uses the Greek form of the word
"Ethiopia" sometimes and the Hebrew form at times in the Old
Testament for one reason was the slave trade and the English involvement in it
which added to the deception in the world concerning the identity of the
so-called "Negroes" they and the Americans were brutalizing with
vicious inhumane treatment.
Now,
Noah and his sons Shem, Ham, Japheth and their wives survived the flood in
Genesis 7:13, 24. Cush was one of the sons of Ham, see Genesis 10:6-9 who
remained with Shem in the land formerly called by God as Eden, and today
referred to as Africa because of the blessings of God - see Abram renaming by
God as "Abra-ham", see Genesis 10:6-32,
17:5; Genesis 25:1-4; Exodus 2:21, 18:2-6 and Numbers 12:1 where Moses married
a Cushite woman and their sons became part of Israel
(the Hebrews); Psalm 105:23-27; Amos 9:7 God compares the Israelites as being
to Him as the Cushites are to Him; see also Acts 7:29
and 17:26 (NIV).
The
spelling I use the "K" as in most spelling of ancient times in the
Hebrew, and especially among the Black community words are often spelled with
the "K" instead of the "C". See also your Strong
concordance, the word "Cush" is translated "Kuwsh"
and pronounced as "koosh" with a
"K" sound. In the Greek, this same Hebrew word is translated as
"Ethiopia" having the same meaning as the Hebrew word "Kush or
Cush". Your King James Version (KJV) of the Holy Bible translates the word
as "Cush" sometimes in the Old Testament which was original written
in the Hebrew and the Aramaic; but uses the Greek word on other occasions in
the Hebrew written Old Testament, why you should ask yourself this in your own
personal Bible study of the word "Kush or Cush" and the word
"Ethiopia".
I
exhort you to continue in your prayers, personal Bible study and staying alert
to the seasons; see Luke 22:39-46 and Mathew 24:42-51. I always pray to my Holy
Father in heaven that I may help set as many as I can free from this guilt and
burden of tithing, and when I hear from followers of Christ such as yourself, I
am thankful for God's grace. Amen. Praise God.
