Dear Alex,

Your Comments / Question(s): I would like to thank you for your time to answer my questions. And [being] an inspiration. I would like to know how [could] I get to be wise like u and understand the Scriptures. That would be a lot of help to me. Sorry for my [English] and thanks again.

My Answer(s): Again, Alex I thank you for visiting my web site. And I pray that you continue to seek understanding of God’s Holy Word. I am thankful to God that my answers to your previous questions were helpful for you. Let me say from the beginning that I have only the understanding and wisdom that my God and Holy Father in heaven and His Christ have given me. God through His Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth has given me His wisdom from above and understanding of His Holy Word. Because of this I give thanks and praise to my Father in heaven for blessing me with this knowledge, and for this I am required to share freely to others this understanding. For it is written, "For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more" (Luke 12:41-48 NKJV). "Freely you have received, freely give" (Matthew 10:8). If not for my God and Holy Father in heaven giving me knowledge and understanding then I would not know these things, for I always humbly pray for understanding of God’s Word, and that I always remain teachable. Praying always that I am willing to accept and follow His Holy word. And I am fully persuaded that your God and my Holy and Righteous Father in heaven will do the same for you Alex. Amen. Praise God.

Now, you asked how could you gain wisdom and understanding the Holy Scriptures. Alex, you are already beginning on the correct path to understanding God’s word by asking for help. Remember the story of Philip and the Ethiopian official in Acts 8 where Philip asked the Ethiopian, "Do you understand what you are reading?" And the Ethiopian replied, "How can I, unless someone guides me?" (Acts 8-26-40 NKJV). God grants His wisdom and understanding to those who humble themselves before Him, and asking for His understanding by remaining humble and teachable. Not resisting the truth, but seeking it and asking God to help you to accept His word. For when the student is ready the teacher will appear, as it is written, "when he, the Spirit of truth, comes he will guide you into all truth" (John 16:13 NIV).

The Holy Spirit ask these questions in Isaiah 28:9 (NKJV) "Whom will he teach knowledge? And whom will he make to understand the message? Those just weaned from milk? Those just drawn from the breasts?" And then in Isaiah 28:10-13 (NKJV), the Holy Spirit says the word of God shall be, "For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little." For with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to this people, To whom He said, "This is the rest with which You may cause the weary to rest," And, "This is the refreshing"; Yet they would not hear. But the word of the LORD was to them, "Precept upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little," That they might go and fall backward, and be broken And snared and caught." Here the wise of this evil and adulterous world stumble in the word of God, for they willingly forget this truth, the word of God interprets itself, and all the answers to understanding God’s word is in God’s word. But God will revealed these things to us through His Spirit, that I and you also if indeed you humble yourself to Him might know the things that God has freely given to us (1 Corinthians 2).

Jesus in Matthew 11 speaking of the spiritual things from above says, "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because "You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes" (Matthew 11:25 NKJV). Alex, when you first turned from your own way to seek the way of God the Father by understanding His Holy Word, you began your journey towards maturity and the wisdom that comes with it. The Holy Spirit tells us that the fear of God is the beginning of knowledge (Proverbs 1:7). And the Spirit again tells us God will teach knowledge to those "just weaned from milk" meaning those who humble themselves as a little child. For it is written, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it" (Like 18:16-17 NIV).

Therefore, Alex I exhort you to submit to the righteousness of God. "For the word is near you, even in your mouth and in your heart", the word of faith which you have heard, and I preach to you today. And "if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:8-9 NKJV). For when you are willing to submit to God, as a living sacrifice for His service, you will gain wisdom and understanding (Romans 12:1-2). And as you mature in the faith by rightly dividing the word of God, the Spirit of truth will reveal to you anything you are lacking in understanding the faith. Give yourself to reading and studying God’s word, and meditating and praying on the spiritual things, for "the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus" (2 Timothy 3:15, Philippians 3:15 and 2 Timothy 2:15). May you consider these things I exhort you to do, and I pray that God give you understanding in these things. Amen. Praise God.

I ask also that you please go to my web page on Bible Studies, and do the study on wisdom. Remember to always pray without ceasing everyday and night, and always read and study God’s Holy word, asking always for understanding and that you remain teachable. For God is faithful, and if you lack anything He will provide. I pray that this is helpful to you.

In Christ love,

Ron Davis, minister of Christ
