The Passover – Leviticus 23:4-5
(Remember Yahweh’s Holy Days Begin the Day Before at Sunset)
The Passover was instituted by Yahweh when He brought His inheritance Israel out of bondage in the land of Ham also referred to as Egypt – see Exodus 12. On the 10th day of the first month of their year (spring of the year), the families of Israel were to take a male lamb from the sheep or goats without defect in its first year and keep it until the 14th day of the first month of the year to slaughter it at twilight cooking it by fire-roasting it and eating it with unleavened bread with bitter herbs.
The name Pass-over used because the people of Israel were instructed to take a bunch of hyssop and dip it into the lamb’s blood and put it on their doorposts so that as Yahweh sent out the death angel he would pass over their homes as He struck the Egyptians with the destructive plague of killing their first born of every man and beast punishing the gods of Egypt – see also Hebrews 11:28 …By Faith Moses kept the Passover.
The Wave Offering of the First of the First-fruits – Leviticus 23:9-14
The Wave Offering is made on the on the day the people of Israel arrive in the Promise Land on the day after the Sabbath (first day of the week Sunday – same the Messiah rose from the dead being the First-born from the dead). The celebration is performed on the same day of the Wave Offering a lamb without defect sacrifice as a “burnt offering”with a “grain and food offering” and “drink offering” of wine.
The Son of Yahweh, Son of David, Son of Man is the Lamb of Yahweh
In Yahweh’s Holy Days, the Passover and Wave Offering was pointing to the Messiah coming as the Lamb of Yahweh, our Passover sacrificed for our eternal redemption and an Wave Offering as the Firstborn from the Dead (1 Cor. 15). The Son of Yahweh and Son of Man Yahwehshua was hanged and nailed to the very same day given to the children of Israel on the evening they were brought out of bondage in Egypt – see Luke 22:14-16, where it is said…“the Day of Unleavened Bread came on which the Passover must be Sacrificed…when the hour was come, He sat down, and the Apostles with Him. And He said to them, with desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer: for I say to you, I shall not eat it, until it be fulfilled in the Kingdom of Yahweh”.
1 Corinthians 5:7-8 The Sacred Scriptures Bethel Edition…7 Purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, even as you are unleavened. For our Passover also has been sacrificed, even the Messiah:8 therefore let us keep the Feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Just as physical Israel were circumcised physically and eat the Passover when they entered the physical Land of Promise – Joshua 5; we as the spiritual Israel when coming into the Faith are spiritually circumcised in our hearts and eat of the Messiah Body as our Passover when we are entering into the spiritual Promised Land – 1 Cor. 5; Colossians 2:16-17 ...”These are a shadow of the things that were to come…”.
